During the high water typical of late May and early June, wave trains with waves as high as 10 feet provide long, thrilling rides. Before and after high water, the Kings River is an idyllic whitewater rafting wonderland with over 40 Class III rapids perfect for first-timers, families and people of all ages - from 7 to 77.
Just upstream from our run, the Kings moves through magnificent Kings Canyon. With a depth of over 5,000 feet - four hundred feet deeper than the Grand Canyon - this colossal defile is the second deepest canyon in the entire United States.
On our One Day Joy Ride trips you arrive at our base camp by 9:30 A.M. for a day of rafting (10 river miles), a hearty lunch, plus beverages and snacks at trip's end.
Add on a night—or two—and arrive at our base camp between 7 P.M. and 11 P.M. the night before your trip, relax into a deep sandy-river-beach sleep under brilliant stars with sounds of the majestic Kings River gliding past nearby. We’ll prepare a hearty breakfast before taking you on the river, and if you stay a second night, we’ll provide a delicious dinner and another breakfast.
The longer our time away, of course, the better, for our longer trips provide more time to relax on our river beach, socialize with new friends, dream, and soak in the remote magic of the Kings.
Add on to your white water rafting trip some fishing, hiking, camping, mountain biking or rock climbing in the Sierra highlands.
Kings River Rapids: Some of the more memorable rapids on the Kings River include Banzai, Mule Rock, Fang Tooth, Sidewinder, and Rooster Tail.
